Our Story

Grand Heritage Foundation 

What once started as the Boxholm Consolidated School will be upgraded and preserved as The Grand Community Center. When the vacant school was said to be headed for the wrecking ball, the newly elected board members sprang into action with a vision for the space. Soon after, the Grand Heritage Foundation was formed, and possession of the building was granted on September 28, 2023.

Since then, the Community Center board and volunteers have been hard at work striving to make this space a place for the community to enjoy. Renovations have begun, and grants have been secured, and the vision of a Community Center is definitely on its way. They started with new landscaping to make the front more welcoming, new backboards in the gym, a new play set from the Boxholm community, and some of the roof has been redone.

There is still a lot to do, but the board is excited about what has happened so far. The Grand Community Center has already been used multiple times since renovations began, hosting events such as a time capsule opening, a community Easter egg hunt, and an extraordinary Fourth of July celebration.
